Ann Robertson

Ann Robertson undertook general nurse training at Leicester Royal Infirmary followed by midwifery training at The Barratt in Northampton and Family Planning training in Birmingham.

Following periods as a midwifery night sister in Peterborough and Canterbury, she spent the greater part of her career as a District Nurse/Midwife in rural SE Kent during the 1970’s and 1980’s.

It was deficits in care at this time which led her to found the three Pilgrims Hospices in Kent, for which she was awarded the OBE and is now Life President.

Ann also trained as a Lay Preacher in the diocese of Canterbury and works in this capacity in Tenterden where she retired with her husband to be near her two daughters and four grandchildren.
