Hemmie Martin is a former community nurse for people with learning disabilities and a Family Planning Nurse in London, and a mental health nurse working with young offenders in Hertfordshire. She lived in the south of France for six years.

Hemmie is an alumnus of The Novelry and the CBC Edit and Pitch Your Novel course. She has been writing for ten years and has previously published a five-book crime series and two contemporary women’s fiction, published by Wintergoose. She is still an active member of The Novelry.

When not writing, Hemmie feels responsible for feeding every bird and hedgehog that visits or lives in the garden. She lives on the Norfolk border with her husband and their demanding rescue cat. Their daughters have flown the nest.
