JJ Thomas recently took early retirement from a long career in the British Civil Service. During the last few years of her career she travelled in Africa and the Caribbean helping the OECD. Having lived in Greece, London, Edinburgh and the East Midlands she has recently returned to her native North-East England.
Her two passions are travel and history and she has a PhD in history and archaeology from King’s College, London. She tries to visit as many new countries every year as she can. Having lived in Greece for just over four years when she was a post-graduate student she continues to have a close connection with Greece and her many friends there.
JJ initially intended writing historical novels and still intends to do that at some point, but she realised her life, career and travel had given her ideas for a crime series. The first of her DCI Shaftoe series Blackfriars Gate was published on Amazon. The second in the series, Missing Presumed Guilty is now complete and out for submission shortly.
