Tessa Harris has come a long way since she wrote her first story on a piece of wallpaper when she was just four years old. After reading History at Oxford, she became a journalist (what else?) and editor, until her debut novel, The Anatomist’s Apprentice, was published in 2012. It won the Romantic Times Best First Mystery 2012 award. She now has ten historical novels – set between the late 18th century and World War 2 – to her name.
Tessa loves chairing literary panels and conducting author interviews and has also given talks on historical topics – usually crime-related – at various festivals and venues around the country. In 2017 she became qualified to teach Creative Writing to adults and lives with her husband and dog near Stroud, where she runs a welcoming guest house and restaurant for her two adult children.
